“Gen 9:4-6
4 “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.
6 “Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made man.”
My family has taken these verses to mean that animals know what they are supposed to do and that they are not supposed to attack man and that if they do, God will punish them. Through man or something else. (Like the Jews and the foreign armies.)
I fully expect animals in heaven or in the new heaven and the new earth. I expect them to be friendly and probably, like the snake in the garden and Balaam’s donkey, talkative.
