Austin Community College says that a Marine is not a Texan because he spent two tours in Iraq. So he has to pay a higher price for his tuition. What are they thinking?
ACC blames the “residency status” on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
I have written to both ACC and THECB. I suggest anyone who cares about this should do the same. If ACC and THECB get sufficient negative reactions, the decision and the policy will be changed and the next Marine won’t have to deal with this malarky.
Update: August 19, 2005 I received an email, which is on that dates blog, about this situation. It has been resolved.
