1. Who is your favorite Bible person besides Jesus?

2. What is your favorite book of the Old Testament?

3. What is your least favorite book of the Old Testament?

4. What is your favorite non-gospel book of the New Testament?

(I think these should be added.)

5. What is your favorite gospel?

6. Which is your favorite Old Testament story?

7. Which is your favorite New Testament story?

8. Which is your least favorite New Testament book?

So, the answers.
1. That’s a hard question. Naaman’s servant girl is my regular answer. I even wrote a novel about her. (2 Kings 5)

2. My favorite book of the OT is… Esther. I love the beauty and faith of the book. Then probably Ruth. Then Proverbs. Then Psalms. Then Job. Then Isaiah.

3. I don’t actually have a least favorite book in the OT anymore. I used to dislike Leviticus because of all the laws.

4. My favorite non-gospel book is… James. It’s my dad’s favorite. Or I John. I John was my favorite growing up. I like I Corinthians too.

5. My favorite gospel is John. I once read it 50 times in one month. (A translator who is known for his phenomenal work said that he reads any work he is going to be translating 50 times in the original before he begins translating. Now I didn’t stay in Greek class long enough to read John in the original, but I figured if he could do the reading, so could I.) And it is still my favorite.

6. The story of Balaam’s donkey. (Numbers chapter 22.)

7. Aside from Jesus, my favorite NT story is Paul and Silas in the prison. (Acts chapter 16.) The words to this song, by Ray Boltz, help explain why, I think.

Bleeding in the darkness
The cell was cold and black
Driven to unconsciousness
The stripes on His back
He heard a voice call out his name
His mind began to clear
And in the darkness Paul replied

Silas I’m here
Oh my brother Silas
Paul uttered with a groan
Today when they were beating us I thought
We were going home
And when I opened up my eyes
I was going to look at Jesus’ face
But here we are together
In this dreadful place

But I will praise the Lord
I will praise the Lord
No matter what tomorrow brings
What it has in store
I will praise the Lord

I will praise the Lord
I will praise the Lord
No matter what tomorrow brings
What it has in store
I will praise the Lord

This may be a prison
And these may be chains
Still I am free
Free to praise His name
And in tribulation
My heart still sings
He is my Messiah
Yes He is my King of Kings
Prisoners started waking up
Singing filled their ears
Some men started swearing
Others were in tears
Then suddenly it happened
There was no mistake
As Paul and Silas praised the Lord
The walls began to shake

Praise the Lord!

8. My least favorite book may be Revelation. Why? Because we argue over it to no purpose. Because I’ve heard several conflicting sermons on it. Because I don’t think it matters to our daily walk with Jesus. But it used to be one of my favorites.
