People keep saying that the Omaha mall killer is famous. They say he wanted to be famous and the media is making him famous.

Not so much.

He’s the Omaha Mall Killer. I don’t know his name. I don’t want to know his name. And I’m not going to know his name.

Why don’t the news media celebrate the lives of those he killed in such depth? Then THEY would be famous and he would be obscure?

But he’s not famous. He’s the Omaha Mall Killer. He doesn’t even have a real name.

The same is true of the VA Tech murderer.

A teacher who gave his life for his students is famous. Professor Librescu threw himself at the shooter and kept his students alive. God bless him.

The other guy, the one who killed him? He’s just the killer.

Maybe that’s famous enough.
