Identity theft

is a big problem. Although my soc didn’t get into the hands of criminals during the two thefts, detailed in this Wired article, it did several years ago when someone hacked into UT’s gigantic (ginormous?) list of alumni. UT sent me a letter; we checked our credit report; no problems.

But there are some great ideas for those of us who don’t want to become victims. I especially like the one about sending out for your free credit report once every four months, to keep all of the companies covered within a year. It seems to me that is a better idea than asking for all of them at the same time.
