A Poke in the I is a wonderful book of concrete poems. My favorite was “Tennis,” but “A Poem” was also very good. (a poem moves down the page
faster than a novel)

For a fun contrasting book between typical boy and typical girl stories we have Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude. It is two kids telling a story together. Fun. Good pictures, two different styles.

Martina the Beautiful Cockroach is a Cuban folktale. I liked it very much.

And I began to read a series by Edward Eager which started with Half Magic. It is a lot of fun and has allusions in it.
